Project Summary

In 2006, I worked as a freelance contractor in the Lego Play Themes department on a collection of of space adventure themed Lego models called Mars Mission.

This was my first job working for Lego, and it was an absolute dream come true!

Commercial Success & Critical Acclaim

Mars Mission was a very successful product range for the Lego company in 2007 and 2008. It ran for a second year, which is always a very good sign. The majority of my time was focused on the design of the MT 101 Armoured drilling rig which you can see above. It was an account exclusive for Toys’r’Us. It made the top 20 Christmas list in 2007. I was exceptionally proud to have worked with this team.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Building concept Lego Models – To fit the Mars Mission theme.
• Production Building – Optimize concept models to match box set cost and build quality.
